This privacy policy describes the data practices of the website at satoshisgift.org (the “Website”). The Website provides an interface to the Global Adoption Protocol (“GAP”) smart contract on the Polygon blockchain. The smart contract is autonomous and is not the subject of this policy — this policy describes what the Website does.
What the Website processes
Account data
- Your wallet address — recorded when you activate, used to render your account state. (Note: wallet addresses are public on the Polygon blockchain by design.)
- An optional custom handle if you set one in /settings.
- Account preferences set in /settings (default invitation link, selected invitation video).
Third-party services your browser interacts with when you visit
These services see your IP address as an inherent part of network communication — not because Satoshi's Gift sends it to them, but because your browser connects directly to them when loading or using the Website. Their data practices are governed by their own privacy policies.
- Cloudflare (DNS / proxy in front of the Website)
- CDN script providers — Tailwind CDN (cdn.tailwindcss.com), unpkg, jsdelivr, cdnjs — these load scripts your browser executes.
- Pinata (IPFS gateway, used for video and document hosting).
- Polygon RPC providers when you submit blockchain transactions through the Website.
- Wallet services you connect (MetaMask, WalletConnect-compatible mobile wallets) — these are not operated by us.
What the Website does NOT collect
- We do not collect or retain IP addresses in any user-facing way. Satoshi's Gift does not store IP addresses in any database, does not associate them with user accounts, and does not use them for analytics, tracking, profiling, or marketing. (See the third-party section above for services your browser independently interacts with as part of normal internet operation.)
- We do not collect your real name, email, phone, or postal address.
- We do not process payment information — activation is paid in cryptocurrency directly to the smart contract by your wallet.
- We do not use marketing analytics — no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no advertising trackers, as of the last updated date.
- We never request, see, or store your private key, seed phrase, or hardware wallet mnemonic.
What the Website does NOT do
- We do not sell, rent, or share account data with third parties.
- We do not custody funds. Activation fees go directly to the smart contract; we do not see, hold, or have any way to access participant funds.
- We cannot edit, freeze, redirect, or recover transactions on the smart contract. The contract is immutable; we have no administrative override.
Public blockchain data
Once you activate, your wallet address and the activation event are recorded on the Polygon blockchain. This record is public, permanent, and outside our control. Anyone can see it via PolygonScan or similar block explorers. We did not put it there in the sense that the smart contract recorded it deterministically when your wallet signed the activation transaction.
Any subsequent on-chain action you take (claiming rewards, etc.) creates additional public records. This is an inherent property of public blockchains, not a choice the Website makes.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Website uses essential session and local-storage to maintain wallet connection state and remember user preferences across pages. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
Your rights
If you reside in a jurisdiction with data-protection laws (such as GDPR in the EU/UK or CCPA in California), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the Website-side data we hold about you (your custom handle, your settings preferences, your associated server logs). Note: blockchain data is outside our control and cannot be deleted on request — not by us, not by anyone. The blockchain record is, by design, permanent.
Children
The Website is not intended for individuals under the age of majority in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Website after a change constitutes acceptance.
